afar

i am detached​

in depth 

and in distance

i am uninvested

in this ordered anarchy​​​

​

​the heart cannot absolve

what the mind cannot resolve​

​

the heart cannot comfort

what the mind cannot confess

​

and the mind proves to be

more and more and evermore

 

​complicit

 

in the slow dissolution ​

of clarity

 

in the foregone eviction ​

of sanity

 

in the hasty evacuation ​

of time

 

as the mind ultimately

acquiesces ​to desire​ 

 

so too the heart abdicates​

and retreats to its​

​

silent

inner

knowing​

​
