from afar

more and more ​and evermore

afar

i am detached​ in depth 

and in distance

i am uninvested in this 

ordered anarchy

 

​t​​​he heart cannot comfort

what the mind cannot confess

 

​and the heart cannot absolve

what the mind cannot resolve​​

​

and the mind proves to be

more and more and evermore

 

​complicit

 

in the slow dissolution ​

of clarity

 

in the foregone eviction ​

of sanity

 

in the hasty evacuation ​

of time

 

as the mind ultimately acquiesces

​to desire​ 

 

so too the heart abdicates​

and retreats

to its​

silent

inner

knowing​
